Southern Pecan pie

4 eggs
1 1/4 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup pecan pieces
4 Tb butter
1 tsp vanilla.

Boil sugar and corn syrup together for 2-3 minutes. Beat eggs until they form soft peaks. Pour hot syrup in slowly, while stirring. Add butter and vanilla. Pour pecans into a pie shell. Pour syrup over the top. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes or until set.
