Spiked pumpking soup

1 chopped onion
1/2 tsp minced and peeled fresh ginger
1/2 tsp cumin
2 garlic cloves
1 1/2 cups apple cider
1/3 cup bourbon
1/4 cup maple syrup
29 oz pumpkin
14 oz chicken broth
2 cups milk
1 tsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
9 TB sour cream
3 TB fresh parsley

Saute Onion, ginger, cumin and garlic cloves for 5 minutes. Stir in cider, bourbon, syrup, pumpkin, and broth. Simmer 10 minutes. In patches, place mixture in a blender and process until smooth, then return to the pan. Stir in milk, flour, salt and pepper. Heat through but do not boil. Serve with sour cream. (serving size about 1 cup.
